The DiversiTech SERVICE-BAR-6-S-T is a service valve assembly supplying isolation and service port access for refrigeration and air conditioning circuits.

Where service valves are positioned matters as much as whether they are fitted. A valve placed so that it isolates a component the technician will realistically need to service saves time repeatedly. A valve placed where it isolates nothing useful, or one positioned behind a panel that must be removed to reach it, contributes little.

The components most worth isolating are those with a known service life shorter than the system's. Filter driers require periodic replacement. Metering devices, solenoid valves, and receivers are occasional service items. Compressors fail. Positioning isolation so that each of these can be reached without recovering the entire charge is the practical objective.

Access to the valve stem and the service port is the second consideration. A valve requiring a specific wrench in a position where that wrench will not fit is effectively not there.

Leak integrity is the third. Valve stem packings and port caps are both sealing surfaces, and both should be checked when the system is serviced.

The numeric designation identifies size and configuration within the range. Confirm connection sizes, valve type, and pressure rating against the application, and leak test thoroughly after installation.
