Appion Valve Core Removal Tool MGAVCR

The Appion MGAVCR is a valve core removal tool designed to allow Schrader cores to be removed and replaced without recovering the system charge.

Schrader cores are the largest single restriction in most service connections. During evacuation they slow the process substantially, and during recovery they limit the rate at which refrigerant can be pulled from the system. Removing them transforms both operations, and on larger systems the time saved is measured in hours rather than minutes.

The difficulty is that the core sits under system pressure. A core removal tool solves this by fitting over the service port with its own isolation valve, allowing the core to be unscrewed into the tool body, the tool valve closed, and the core withdrawn with the system still sealed.

The tool then remains in place as a full bore connection for the duration of the work, and the core is refitted the same way when the job is complete.

The practical requirement is that the tool must not leak. It is installed on a system under vacuum for extended periods, and any leakage at the tool defeats the evacuation it was fitted to accelerate. Inspecting and replacing the tool's own seals as part of routine equipment maintenance is worthwhile.

Confirm port size and thread compatibility, and always verify the core is correctly reseated and leak free after refitting.
