CPS Access Valve Auto Coupler R134 1 QCL90

The CPS QCL90 is a low side automatic quick coupler for R-134a service ports, offering a 90 degree hose connection for charging and diagnostic work.

Low side connections carry a specific risk that makes coupler condition worth attention. The low side of an operating system sits at a pressure that can fall below atmospheric under some conditions, particularly on a system that is undercharged or one with a restriction. A coupler or hose connection that leaks will then draw air and moisture inward rather than venting refrigerant outward.

Moisture entering a system creates two problems. It reacts with refrigerant and lubricant to form acids that attack windings and metal surfaces, and where it reaches the metering device it can freeze and block flow intermittently. The intermittent nature makes it a difficult fault to diagnose, since the system may operate normally until the blockage forms.

This makes leak free service connections a matter of system protection rather than convenience. Coupler seals are a consumable item and are worth inspecting as part of routine equipment maintenance.

The 90 degree body provides clearance where service ports are recessed or close to adjacent components, and reduces strain on the hose at the connection.

This is the low side coupler, sized so it cannot be fitted to a high side port. Confirm compatibility with the ports in use and keep sealing faces clean.
