Appion Low Loss Fitting 1/4IN CTEE14

The Appion CTEE14 is a 1/4 inch low loss fitting used with recovery, evacuation, and charging equipment to limit refrigerant release when hoses are disconnected.

Every hose disconnection releases the refrigerant held inside the hose. On a standard connection this is a small but real quantity, and across a working day of recovery and charging the total becomes significant. It is a direct cost, a release to atmosphere that regulation increasingly restricts, and on evacuation work it is also an air entry point.

A low loss fitting closes the hose end mechanically before the connection separates. The refrigerant that would otherwise vent stays captured in the hose, available for the next connection rather than lost.

On evacuation the benefit is different but equally practical. A standard connection admits atmospheric air into the hose the moment it is broken, and that air, along with the moisture it carries, enters the system at the next connection. A low loss fitting keeps the hose sealed and its contents intact.

Confirm the connection size and thread against the hoses and equipment in use. Inspect and replace the internal seals periodically, as a low loss fitting that no longer seals provides no benefit.
