The DiversiTech SERVICE-BAR4ST is a service valve assembly providing isolation points and service port access on refrigeration and air conditioning circuits.

The service port cap is among the most consistently underestimated components in a refrigeration system. On the majority of designs it is a sealing component, fitted with a gasket or an O ring, and it forms the primary seal against refrigerant loss. The Schrader core beneath it is the secondary seal.

This ordering surprises many technicians, who treat the cap as a dust cover and the core as the seal. In practice cores leak. They are small spring loaded valves subject to repeated actuation, contamination, and wear, and a slow leak past a core is a routine finding.

A correctly fitted cap contains that leak. A missing cap, a cap fitted without its gasket, or a cap left loose does not, and the system loses charge slowly over months until performance degrades enough for the customer to call.

Replacing missing caps and confirming their gaskets are present is one of the cheapest preventive measures available on a service visit, and it addresses a genuine and common cause of gradual charge loss.
