DiversiTech Ultralite Pad UC3648-3

The DiversiTech UC3648-3 is an UltraLite composite equipment pad measuring 36 by 48 by 3 inches, for large equipment or paired unit installations.

The 48 inch length suits the largest residential condensing units, light commercial equipment, and the arrangement of two smaller units on a single continuous base. Placing two units on one pad avoids the differential settlement that occurs when two separate pads are laid side by side, and gives a tidier and more stable result.

Where two units share a pad, each manufacturer's clearance requirements must be observed. Condensers draw air through the coil on multiple sides and discharge upward, and units placed too close to each other recirculate discharge air, raising head pressure and reducing capacity on both.

The composite construction gives the rigidity a pad of this span requires. A long pad bridges more ground, and variation in soil consolidation along its length produces twist rather than a simple tilt; a rigid pad distributes that load rather than following the ground contour.

Subgrade preparation is correspondingly important. Excavate to firm ground, bed on compacted gravel across the full area, and verify level along both axes after the equipment is set.
