The DiversiTech 230-LFB3 is a three inch ninety degree long bend fitting for line set cover systems, providing a generous radius direction change.

The long bend exists to accommodate the tubing rather than for appearance. A refrigerant line has a minimum bend radius below which the tube wall distorts and the bore is reduced, and a tight cover fitting forces the installer either to kink the tubing to fit or to leave the bend uncovered.

Restriction in a refrigerant line is a persistent and expensive fault. On the suction line it raises compressor discharge temperature and reduces capacity. On the liquid line it produces flash gas ahead of the metering device, which starves the evaporator. In both cases the symptoms suggest a charge problem, and technicians will chase the charge repeatedly because the tubing is concealed inside the cover.

A generous radius fitting allows the tube to be bent within its limits and covered properly, which removes the problem at installation rather than leaving it to be diagnosed later.

Insulation also matters at bends. Foam compressed hard against the inside of a tight bend loses thickness and thermal value exactly where the cover is most likely to trap moisture.

Confirm the channel size and bend orientation before ordering. Check the tubing bend radius against the manufacturer's minimum, and arrange joints so water sheds over rather than into them.
