DiversiTech Condenser Pad 36X36X3 UC3636-3

The DiversiTech UC3636-3 is an UltraLite composite equipment pad measuring 36 by 36 by 3 inches, sized for larger condensing units and heat pumps.

A 36 inch square pad accommodates four and five ton residential equipment and the larger cabinets found on high efficiency models, where increased coil surface area has enlarged the footprint relative to older equipment of the same capacity.

The composite construction provides more mass and rigidity than plastic, which becomes more valuable as equipment weight increases. A heavier unit imposes greater load on both the pad and the subgrade, and a pad that flexes under that load will not hold the unit level. The additional mass also resists wind displacement and casual disturbance.

Level installation is a functional requirement rather than an aesthetic preference. A condensing unit out of level compromises compressor oil return, and on a heat pump it also directs defrost condensate incorrectly, which in freezing conditions produces ice accumulation under and around the unit.

Ground preparation determines whether level is maintained over time. Excavate to firm subgrade, bed on compacted gravel across the full pad area rather than supporting the corners, and check level in both directions after the equipment is set, since the unit's weight reveals any inadequacy in the base.

Applications include residential and light commercial condensing units, heat pumps, and ground mounted mechanical equipment.
