DiversiTech Condenser Pad 30X UC3030-3

The DiversiTech UC3030-3 is an UltraLite composite equipment pad measuring 30 by 30 by 3 inches, for supporting residential condensing units and heat pumps.

The 30 inch square footprint covers the majority of two to three ton condensing units, making this one of the highest volume pad sizes in residential work.

The composite construction gives the pad more mass and rigidity than a hollow plastic equivalent while remaining far lighter than concrete. The practical consequence is a pad that resists flexing under a concentrated load, holds its shape where the subgrade is imperfect, and is less prone to displacement by wind or by disturbance during landscaping and yard work. Where a very light pad can be shifted by a determined push, a composite pad with the unit on it stays where it is placed.

Pad selection should follow the actual equipment footprint rather than nominal tonnage, since cabinet sizes vary between manufacturers and have generally increased with efficiency requirements. Base rails overhanging the pad edge concentrate load and cause the unit to go out of level, which compromises compressor oil return.

Excavate to firm subgrade and bed on compacted gravel across the full pad area, then verify level in both directions after the unit is set.

Applications include residential and light commercial condensing units, heat pumps, and ground mounted mechanical equipment.
