Yellow Jacket Refrigerant A2L Adapter 45-Degree ¼ X ¼ LH

The Yellow Jacket 19180 is a 45 degree A2L service adapter with 1/4 inch left hand thread connections for use with mildly flammable refrigerants.

Angled adapters address the same access problem in A2L service that they address elsewhere. Service ports sit in congested cabinets, close to panels and adjacent components, and a straight adapter with a hose attached frequently will not fit or forces the hose into a bend tight enough to restrict flow and stress the hose at its fitting.

A 45 degree body offers an intermediate option between a straight adapter and a full 90 degree turn, which is often the better fit where a right angle would direct the hose into an obstruction.

Hose condition carries additional weight in A2L service. A hose failure releases a flammable refrigerant, and while A2L classification indicates mild flammability with limited burning velocity, the release is still a hazard, particularly indoors or in a confined plant room.

Hoses should be inspected before use for abrasion, cuts, blistering, and damage at the fittings, which is where failures concentrate, and hoses must be rated for both the pressure and the refrigerant class in use.

Ignition source control in the working area is a parallel requirement whenever A2L refrigerant may be released.

Confirm thread direction, size, pressure rating, and A2L approval before use, and verify the entire connection chain is rated for the refrigerant.
