DiversiTech Refrigerant Label R4 4404

The DiversiTech 4404 is a refrigerant identification label used to mark systems and cylinders with their refrigerant charge.

Beyond identifying the refrigerant, labelling supports the record keeping that refrigerant regulations increasingly require. Requirements vary by jurisdiction and by system size, but the direction is consistent: larger systems must have their charge recorded, leaks must be repaired within defined periods, refrigerant added must be logged, and periodic leak inspection may be mandatory.

Meeting those obligations depends on knowing what is in each system and how much. Equipment labelled with its refrigerant type and charge quantity makes the record straightforward. Equipment that is not labelled means the information has to be reconstructed from parts listings or estimated, and estimates are not a sound basis for a compliance record.

There is a practical service benefit alongside the regulatory one. Knowing the factory charge quantity lets a technician charge by weight after a repair, which is more accurate than charging by pressure alone and considerably faster.

A label recording refrigerant type, lubricant type, and factory charge weight covers most of what a technician needs on arrival.

Apply labels to a clean, dry surface in a position visible when service panels are removed. Update the label whenever the refrigerant or lubricant is changed, and keep the information consistent with the service records held for the equipment.
