Copeland Refrigerant Compressor R22 22K CR22K6E-PFV-925

The Copeland CR22K6E-PFV-925 is a single phase hermetic reciprocating compressor in the nominal 22,000 BTU per hour class, supplied for R-22 air conditioning equipment service.

R-22 has been phased out of production and import in the United States, and the supply available for servicing existing equipment comes from recovered and reclaimed stock. Prices have risen substantially as a result, and the trajectory is one way.

This changes the economics of repairing R-22 equipment. A compressor replacement on an ageing R-22 system involves the compressor, the labour, a new filter drier, and a full charge of increasingly expensive refrigerant, applied to equipment that is already near the end of its expected life and operating at an efficiency well below current standards.
