The OccuNomix OCCSS550 is a shoulder length Sherpa Hot Rods winter liner, 6 per pack.

Sherpa is the specification distinguishing this from the Thinsulate version alongside it, and the two insulations work differently enough to matter.

Sherpa is a deep, high-pile fleece — it insulates by loft, trapping air in a thick plush layer. It is warm, it is soft against the skin, and it is bulky. Thinsulate uses microfibres to trap air in far less thickness.

Under a hard hat, that difference is the decision. Bulk lifts the shell off the suspension, and a hat sitting high on a thick liner does not fit the way it was designed to. The thinner insulation preserves the fit; the thicker one buys warmth at the cost of it.

Which means Sherpa suits the colder end of the range and anyone whose head protection has room, and Thinsulate suits a snug hat.

Shoulder length is the coverage: down over the shoulders and under a jacket collar, closing the gap that shorter liners leave for cold air and snow to find — particularly on anyone looking up or bending, which is most trades.
