The headgear and the shield are sold separately, and that is a deliberate system rather than an inconvenience. A faceshield window is a consumable — it gets pitted, scratched, spattered, and chemically attacked, and it is replaced regularly. The headgear is not. Buying them separately means a facility replaces the part that wears out and keeps the part that does not, and it lets one headgear carry different windows for different tasks: a clear shield for grinding, a tinted one for heat work, a chemical-resistant one for a different bay.

The 3 inch crown is the specification that differentiates this from the F400 and F500 in the range. Crown height determines how the headgear sits and how much of the head it covers, and it is the dimension to match to the wearer and to whatever else they are wearing.

Fits over protective spectacles is a compliance point rather than a comfort one. A faceshield is secondary protection, not primary — safety glasses go on underneath, always. A shield stops the fragment; the glasses stop what gets past or around it. Headgear that will not accommodate spectacles forces a choice that should never be offered.

The ratchet allows one-handed adjustment.
