Jackson Safety JKS14202 Face Shield MaxviewTM Universal-Adapter Polycarbonate

The Jackson Safety JKS14202 is a Maxview™ face shield, universal-adapter style, clear, in polycarbonate.

The universal-adapter designation is the specification and it addresses a genuine procurement headache. Face shield mounting is not standardised — a shield built for one manufacturer's headgear or hard hat slot frequently will not fit another's. Facilities that have accumulated mixed head protection over the years end up holding several shield part numbers for the same job, and inevitably the wrong one is in the store when a shield is needed.

A universal adapter mounts across a range of systems rather than one, which consolidates the stock line and means a shield in the cupboard is usable by whoever needs it.

The Maxview name refers to the extended field of view. That is a real safety feature rather than a comfort one: a shield with restricted peripheral vision gets tipped up so the wearer can see what they are doing, and a shield on the forehead protects nothing.

Polycarbonate delivers high impact resistance — the property that stops grinding fragments. It is poor against many solvents, which craze it; chemical splash work wants acetate.

A face shield is secondary protection and safety glasses are worn underneath it, always.

Applications include grinding, machining, chipping, and general industrial work.

Verify adapter compatibility with your headgear before ordering.
