Milwaukee MIL48-32-4246 tool Shockwavetm 6" Impact Torx T25 Power Bits

The Milwaukee MIL48-32-4246 is a set of SHOCKWAVE 6 inch impact Torx T25 power bits, model 48-32-4246, 10 pack, priced and sold per pack.

Impact rated is the specification and it is not a marketing tier — it is a different design responding to a different failure.

An impact driver does not turn steadily. It delivers torque in thousands of hammer blows a minute, and each blow is a shock loading the bit. A standard bit is hard, and hard is brittle: under repeated shock it does not wear out, it shatters. Anyone who has used ordinary bits in an impact driver has watched them snap off in the fastener, which is a far worse problem than a worn bit.

An impact rated bit is engineered to absorb that shock — typically with a section designed to flex and take the torsional spike rather than transmit it to the tip. The bit twists slightly and survives.

Six inches is the specification worth noticing against the 2 inch bits in this range. A long bit reaches into recessed fasteners, through structure, and past obstructions. It also flexes more and wanders more at the tip, so short bits are more accurate where access allows.

T25 is the Torx size — Torx is not interchangeable with any other drive, and the wrong size cams out and rounds the recess.

Applications include construction, decking, and assembly.
