The DeWalt DEWDWA7747 is a 14 inch metal cutting saw blade with 66 carbide teeth, a 1 inch arbor hole, steel construction, and a maximum rating of 1,800 rpm.

A carbide-toothed metal cutting blade is a different proposition from an abrasive chop saw wheel, and the differences are worth weighing. A carbide blade cuts metal rather than grinding it: it produces chips instead of sparks, leaves a cut edge that is cool enough to touch and clean enough to weld without dressing, does not consume itself as it works, and does not fill the shop with abrasive dust. A blade lasts through many times the cuts an abrasive wheel does.

The 1,800 rpm maximum is the specification that makes this possible and the one that must be respected absolutely. Carbide metal cutting blades run slow — roughly a fifth of an abrasive chop saw's speed. Mounting this blade in a standard abrasive chop saw running at 3,800 rpm or more is dangerous: the blade is not rated for it and carbide teeth can be thrown. This blade requires a saw designed for carbide metal cutting.

The 66 tooth count governs finish and the material thickness the blade suits — more teeth give a cleaner cut in thinner section.
