Milwaukee MIL48-11-1850 M18TM Redlithiumtm XC5.0 Extended Capacity Battery Pack

The Milwaukee MIL48-11-1850 is an M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 extended capacity battery pack, one only, priced and sold per each.

At 5.0Ah this is a solid mid-to-high capacity pack, and the numbering makes the range legible: CP for compact, XC for extended capacity, with the number giving amp-hours.

Amp-hours buy two things. Runtime is the obvious one. The less obvious and more important one is current delivery under load. A high-drain tool — a circular saw, a grinder, a large impact wrench — pulls hard, and a pack with fewer cells delivers that current through more internal resistance. The result is heat and voltage sag: the tool feels weak, the pack gets hot, and heat is what degrades lithium cells permanently. A 5.0Ah pack spreads the load across more cells, so it stays cooler and delivers more consistently.

That means pack choice follows the tool. Running a saw on a compact pack is not just short runtime; it is shortening the pack's life every time.

Note the sold-per-each designation — this is a single pack, where other listings in this range are two-packs. Confirm quantity before ordering.

Lithium packs last longest stored around half charge, at moderate temperature, and off a hot tool.

Applications include saws, drills, impact tools, and general M18 work.
