The Milwaukee MIL2615-20 is a cordless M18 right angle drill, tool only.

A right angle drill exists for one reason and it is a good one: a conventional drill is long, and the length is the problem. The chuck sits several inches ahead of the motor, and the motor sits behind the grip — which means the whole assembly needs a foot of clearance behind the hole. Between joists at 16 inch centres, inside a stud bay, under a floor, or behind a cabinet, that foot does not exist.

A right angle drill puts the chuck at ninety degrees to the body, so the tool works in the width of the space rather than needing depth behind it. For plumbers and electricians drilling through framing, it is not a convenience — it is the only way the hole gets made without opening up the wall.

The trade is torque reaction. A right angle drill's grip is offset from the bit, so when a bit grabs, the tool tries to rotate around the bit rather than in the hand. That is a real hazard with large augers and hole saws, and the tool should be gripped for it.

Tool only means no battery or charger — correct for existing M18 owners, useless as a first purchase.

Applications include plumbing and electrical rough-in, HVAC, and remedial work.
