MCR Safety MCR483000 Double Matrix Headgear Ratchet Frame Only Polycarbonate

The MCR Safety MCR483000 is Double Matrix headgear, gray, polycarbonate, ratchet type, frame only with no face shield included, 6 each per case.

The frame-only designation is the specification to notice, and it is not an omission — it is how the category works. Face shield windows are consumables. They pit under grinding sparks, scratch from handling, and craze under chemical exposure, and they get replaced repeatedly across one headgear's life. Headgear does not wear out on the same timescale.

Selling them separately means replacing what wears and keeping what does not. It also means one headgear can carry different windows for different tasks — a clear shield for grinding, a shaded one for heat, an acetate one for chemical work.

The consequence for buyers: a first purchase needs both, and this is not a complete shield. Verify window compatibility before ordering.

The ratchet is what makes headgear wearable. A shield adjusted by a friction band gets set once by whoever wore it last and tolerated by everyone else. A ratchet adjusts in a second, one-handed, gloved — which means it gets fitted to the wearer, and PPE that fits is PPE that stays on.

Polycarbonate construction is tough and non-conductive.

The 6 per case quantity is facility packaging.

Applications include grinding, machining, chipping, and general industrial work.
