The Lau 1332203 is a clockwise rotation blower wheel measuring approximately 10 inches in diameter by 10 inches wide, supplied for direct-drive centrifugal blower assemblies in HVAC air handling equipment.

Rotation designation is the specification most often mistaken when ordering blower wheels. Rotation is determined by viewing the wheel from the side opposite the motor, and the blade curvature must lead in the direction of rotation for the fan to develop its rated performance. A forward-curved wheel installed backwards still turns and still moves some air, which is precisely why the error is so easily missed: the equipment runs, the blower is audibly working, and airflow is nevertheless far below specification.

Symptoms of a reversed wheel include low airflow, high supply air temperature rise in heating, low suction pressure in cooling, and unusually low blower amp draw. Where a system underperforms after a blower repair, wheel rotation should be verified before the duct system is investigated.

Confirm diameter, width, bore diameter, hub position, and rotation against the original wheel before ordering. Clean the inlet ring and housing during replacement and ensure the set screw engages the shaft flat squarely so the wheel cannot migrate along the shaft in service.
