Jackson Safety JKS22920 Safety Helmet 6-1/2 - 8 Size White Rapid Dial Pc + ABS

The Jackson Safety JKS22920 is a safety helmet, sized 6-1/2 to 8 inch, with Rapid Dial suspension adjustment, a PC + ABS shell, 6 point suspension, EPS energy absorption material, white, with a 4-point chin strap, non-vented, and a cushioned headband.

The EPS liner is the specification that separates a safety helmet from a hard hat, and it is a genuine engineering difference. A traditional hard hat protects by suspension: the shell deflects the blow and the webbing stretches, absorbing energy over distance. EPS — expanded polystyrene — is the foam used in climbing and cycling helmets, and it works by crushing. It absorbs energy by permanently deforming, which handles impacts a suspension alone does not, particularly off-centre and lateral ones.

The consequence is important and rarely stated: an EPS liner is single-use. A helmet that has taken a real impact has crushed foam and must be replaced, even if the shell looks fine. A hard hat's suspension gives some visual warning; crushed EPS may not.

The PC + ABS shell blends polycarbonate's impact resistance with ABS's stiffness.

The 4-point chin strap retains the helmet through movement, leaning, and inversion — the reason this style exists.

Non-vented means it can carry electrical protection; vents are holes.

Applications include work at height, utilities, rope access, and construction.
