The Jackson Safety JKS21000 is a GPL500 safety goggle with blue and clear lens, anti-fog coated, single lens type, blue body.

Goggles rather than safety glasses is the specification and it is a hazard decision. Safety glasses stop things coming at the face from the front. Goggles seal to the face, which means they stop things arriving from any direction — including liquid splash, dust, and fine particulate that simply goes around a pair of glasses. Chemical handling, dusty work, and overhead work are goggle jobs, and glasses in those situations are protection theatre.

The anti-fog coating is not a luxury on a sealed goggle. Goggles seal, sealing traps warm moist air against a cool lens, and fogged goggles get lifted off the face. A lifted goggle protects nothing, so the coating is doing safety work rather than comfort work.

That said, anti-fog coatings are surface treatments and they are damaged by abrasive cleaning. Rinse and blot; do not wipe with a dry shop rag.

The clear lens is for general use where colour perception matters — clear alters nothing about what the wearer sees.

The single lens design means one continuous lens across both eyes, which removes the frame in the middle of the field of view.

Applications include chemical handling, dusty environments, and general industrial work.
