Jackson Safety JKS20800 Hard Hat Advantage Non-Vented Full Brim 6 1/2 to 8 Inch

The Jackson Safety JKS20800 is an Advantage hard hat, non-vented, full brim, sized 6-1/2 to 8 inch, in high-density polyethylene, white, with Rapid Dial suspension, 4 sizing points.

Full brim is the specification and it is a real fork rather than a style. A full brim runs all the way around the shell, which gives sun protection to the neck and ears and sheds rain away from the collar. For outdoor ground work — civils, roadworks, surveying, utilities, yards — that is a genuine benefit over a whole summer.

What it costs is clearance. A full brim catches on structure, which makes it wrong for overhead work, confined spaces, and anywhere a worker has to get their head into something. Those need a cap style.

Non-vented is the other specification and it matters more than it looks. Vents make a hat cooler; they also mean it is not rated for electrical protection, because a vent is a hole. Any work near live conductors requires a non-vented hat. This is one.

Rapid Dial adjusts one-handed with gloves on — the feature that gets a hat fitted properly rather than worn loose.

The 4 sizing points are worth noting against the 6 point suspensions elsewhere in this range.

White commonly designates supervisors and visitors, though each site sets its own scheme.
