Jackson Safety JKS14945 Face Shield Adapter Aluminum Non-Slotted

The Jackson Safety JKS14945 is a face shield adapter in aluminium, non-slotted bracket type.

Aluminium is the specification that distinguishes this from the plastic adapters in the range, and the choice is about heat. Plastic adapters are light, cheap, and non-conductive — correct for most industrial work. But in foundry, forge, furnace, and heavy welding environments, radiant heat degrades plastic: it softens, distorts, and eventually fails, and a shield adapter that distorts is a shield that no longer sits where it should. Aluminium takes the heat.

The trade is that aluminium conducts. In electrical work, a metal component on head protection is a consideration, and the plastic version is the correct choice there.

That is a real fork in the specification rather than a good-better distinction: hot work gets aluminium, electrical work gets plastic.

Non-slotted is the fitment. Hard hats are either slotted — with accessory openings moulded into the shell — or non-slotted, and adapters are built for one or the other with no bridging between them. Check your hats before ordering.

Note that this catalog carries a second aluminium non-slotted adapter with identical stated specifications; confirm which you need.

Applications include foundries, forging, heavy welding, and high-heat industrial work.

Verify hat configuration and shield compatibility.
