Jackson Safety JKS14944 Face Shield Adapter Black Plastic Single Crown Slotted

The Jackson Safety JKS14944 is a face shield adapter with a black plastic single crown and a slotted bracket type.

Slotted is the fitment specification and it is the single most common ordering error in this category. Hard hats come in two configurations: slotted hats have the rectangular accessory openings moulded into each side of the shell; non-slotted hats do not. Adapters are built for one or the other and there is no bridging between them. This one requires a slotted hat.

That makes ordering a matter of looking at the hard hats in use rather than reading a catalogue. A facility running mixed hats needs both adapters and needs to know which crew wears which.

The crown is the other half of this product and it is worth understanding. A crown is the band that sits over the top of the hard hat and carries the shield's pivot — it is what allows a face shield to mount to a hat rather than requiring separate headgear that competes for the same space. A single crown is the standard configuration.

Plastic construction is light and non-conductive, which matters on a component sitting on a hard hat.

Applications include grinding, machining, chipping, and general industrial work where combined head and face protection is required.

Verify hat configuration and shield compatibility — the adapter must match at both ends.
