Product Highlights
Description
The Jackson Safety JKS14940 is headgear with a vertical lock-in and ratcheting suspension.
The vertical lock-in feature is the specification and it addresses a problem that anyone who has worn a face shield all day will recognise. Headgear has to sit at the right height on the head — high enough to see, low enough that the shield covers the face. Headgear without a vertical adjustment sits where the design puts it, which fits some heads and not others, and the wearer who cannot see under it tips it back.
A vertical lock-in adjusts and holds that height. Combined with the ratchet, which sets circumference, it means the headgear can actually be fitted to the individual rather than approximately accommodated.
That matters because badly fitting PPE is not worn. A shield that sits wrong gets pushed up onto the forehead the moment the wearer needs to see clearly, and a shield on the forehead protects nothing.
The ratchet adjusts one-handed, with gloves on, which is what makes it get used between tasks rather than set once by whoever wore it last.
Headgear is sold separately from windows because windows are consumables — they pit, scratch, and craze — while headgear is not.
Applications include grinding, machining, chipping, and general industrial work.
Verify window compatibility before ordering.
