Jackson Safety JKS14834 Hard Hat SC-6 Front Brim 6 1/2 to 8 Inch White

The Jackson Safety JKS14834 is an SC-6 hard hat, front brim, sized 6-1/2 to 8 inch, in high-density polyethylene, white, with ratcheting suspension and chinstrap, 6 sizing points.

White is the colour most consistently associated with supervisors, engineers, managers, and visitors across construction sites — which makes it the one colour where a site's scheme is most likely to match the convention. It is also, for that reason, the colour where getting it wrong is most visible: a labourer in a white hat reads as a supervisor to everyone who does not know them.

That is the whole argument for treating hard hat colour as a procurement specification rather than a stock item. Sites set their own codes, and the code only works if the hats match it.

Front brim — cap style — is the choice for overhead and confined work. The peak is at the front only, leaving the sides and rear clear, so the hat does not catch on structure and get pushed off. Full brim hats give all-round sun and rain protection, which suits outdoor ground work.

The ratcheting suspension adjusts one-handed with gloves on, which is what makes the difference between a hat that fits and one that is tolerated.

The 6 sizing points spread load more evenly than 4.

High-density polyethylene is tough, light, and non-conductive.
