Product Highlights
Description
The Jackson Safety JKS14381 is headgear with a ratcheting suspension, in high-density polyethylene.
This is headgear sold on its own, which is the correct way to buy it once you understand the system. Face shield windows are consumables — they pit, scratch, craze, and get replaced repeatedly. Headgear is not. Buying them separately means replacing what wears out and keeping what does not, and it lets one headgear carry different windows for different tasks: a clear shield for grinding, a tinted one for heat, a chemical-resistant one for another bay.
It also means a facility can standardise on one headgear across a crew and stock windows against it.
The ratcheting suspension is what makes a shield wearable. A shield that is adjusted by a friction band or a stud-and-hole strap gets set once by whoever wore it last and then tolerated by everybody else. A ratchet adjusts in a second, one-handed, with gloves on — which means it actually gets fitted to the wearer, and PPE that fits is PPE that stays on.
High-density polyethylene is tough, light, and chemically resistant.
Applications include grinding, machining, chipping, chemical handling, and general industrial work.
Verify window compatibility with this headgear before ordering.
