Jackson Safety JKS14262 Headgear and Window Kit F4XP 15 1/2 Inch 8 Inch Black

The Jackson Safety JKS14262 is an F4XP headgear and window kit, ratcheting suspension, black, with a window 8 inches high by 15-1/2 inches wide and 0.06 inch thick.

A kit supplying both headgear and window is the sensible purchase for a first buy, and understanding why explains the whole product category. Face shields are sold as two separate items because the window is a consumable and the headgear is not — windows pit under grinding sparks, scratch, craze, and get replaced repeatedly over one headgear's life. But a first-time buyer needs both, and a kit is how they get a complete, working shield in one order.

The window dimensions are the specification to check against your requirement. At 8 inches high by 15-1/2 inches wide this is a large window, giving coverage across the face and a wide field of view — which matters because a restricted shield gets tipped up, and a tipped shield protects nobody.

The 0.06 inch thickness is the window's substance. Thicker windows resist impact better and weigh more.

The ratcheting suspension adjusts one-handed, gloves on.

A face shield is secondary protection worn over safety glasses, never instead of them.

Applications include grinding, machining, chipping, and general industrial work.
