The Hart & Cooley FPD 06 050500 is an FPD series steel lay-in ceiling diffuser with a 6 inch round neck, finished in white, for a 24 by 24 inch T-bar grid module.

The FPD designation identifies the base flush plaque diffuser configuration, distinguished from the FPD3 by its face pattern. Where the FPD3 uses three concentric cones, the FPD presents a flush plaque face, which gives a cleaner and less visually prominent appearance in the ceiling plane while still discharging air radially along the ceiling surface.

That appearance is often the deciding factor. In spaces where the ceiling is part of the architectural intent, offices with exposed design elements, retail environments, hospitality, and healthcare, a flush face reads as a quieter element than a stepped cone face. The distribution principle is unchanged: air is directed outward along the ceiling, adheres to the surface, and entrains room air as it travels so that it has moderated in temperature before reaching the occupied zone.

The 6 inch neck is the lowest airflow size, suited to private offices, small rooms, and low load areas. Neck size, not face size, determines capacity, and it should be selected from the design airflow with reference to throw and noise criteria data.
