Hart & Cooley FPD3 10 050511 White Steel Diffuser T-BAR

The Hart & Cooley 50511 is an FPD3 series steel lay-in ceiling diffuser with a 10 inch round neck, finished in white, for a 24 by 24 inch T-bar grid module.

A 10 inch neck handles a substantially higher airflow than the smaller sizes in the series, suiting larger open areas, spaces with higher cooling loads, and locations where fewer diffusers are carrying more air each. Conference rooms, open plan office areas, retail floors, and spaces with significant solar or equipment load are typical.

The three cone face pattern spreads supply air radially along the ceiling surface. Air discharged along a ceiling adheres to it and travels further before dropping into the occupied zone, entraining room air continuously as it goes. At higher airflows this mixing is what keeps the space comfortable: the greater the volume of cool supply air, the more important it is that it has moderated in temperature before reaching occupants.

Throw must be checked against room geometry at these airflows. A diffuser with excessive throw for the space will direct air onto a wall or into an adjacent diffuser's pattern; insufficient throw leaves stagnant areas and drops cold air below the outlet.

Steel construction with a white powder finish is the standard commercial specification. Applications include offices, retail, education, and healthcare. Use an appropriate back pan, support independently of the grid, and seal the duct connection.
