Hart & Cooley FPD3 R6 08 064335 White Steel Diffuser

The Hart & Cooley 64335 is an FPD3 series steel lay-in ceiling diffuser with an 8 inch round neck and integral R-6 insulated back, finished in white, for a 24 by 24 inch T-bar grid module.

The 8 inch neck is the most widely specified size in the series for general commercial work, delivering a moderate airflow at velocities that keep throw and generated noise within normal design criteria.

The integral R-6 insulated back is what distinguishes this from the plain FPD3 diffuser. Combining the face and insulated back pan into one assembly means the components are matched rather than approximated, the duct connection is engineered as part of the unit, and the installer handles a single item. On projects with high diffuser counts, that difference in handling and in leakage control at the face-to-pan junction is significant.

The R-6 value addresses both energy code provisions for distribution components outside the conditioned envelope and condensation on the pan exterior, which otherwise drips onto ceiling tiles in humid conditions. It also attenuates duct borne noise where sound criteria apply.

The three cone face directs supply air radially along the ceiling, entraining room air as it travels so the air has moderated before reaching occupants.

Applications include commercial offices, retail spaces, schools, and healthcare facilities. Support the assembly independently of the ceiling grid rather than relying on the tees, and seal the duct connection.
