The ECCO SRSD08 is an 8 inch steel round ceiling diffuser, providing air distribution from a round duct connection into a conditioned space.

A round ceiling diffuser discharges supply air in a radial pattern, spreading it outward across the ceiling surface. That pattern is deliberate. Air discharged along a ceiling adheres to the surface through the Coanda effect, travelling further before it drops into the occupied zone and mixing with room air as it goes. By the time it reaches occupants it has entrained a substantial volume of room air and moderated in temperature, which is what prevents the cold draught that a poorly selected diffuser produces.

Diffuser selection is therefore not simply a matter of matching duct size. Throw, the distance the air stream travels before its velocity decays to a specified value, must suit the room dimensions, and the discharge velocity must be high enough to establish the ceiling effect without generating objectionable noise. An undersized diffuser is noisy and draughty; an oversized one dumps cold air directly downward.

Steel construction gives a rigid, durable face suited to commercial and light commercial installation, and accepts painting where a specific finish is required.

Applications include residential, light commercial, and commercial air distribution in offices, retail spaces, and similar occupancies. Confirm the neck size against the duct and verify the diffuser is selected for the room's airflow and throw requirements.
