The Hart & Cooley 50509 is an FPD3 series steel lay-in ceiling diffuser with a 6 inch round neck, finished in white, for installation in a 24 by 24 inch T-bar grid module.

The FPD3 designation identifies a three cone face pattern. Concentric cones set at increasing diameters direct the supply air outward in a radial pattern along the ceiling surface, and the number of cones influences both the throw and the degree of mixing achieved. A three cone face provides a well established, widely specified distribution pattern for typical commercial ceiling heights.

The 6 inch neck is the smallest in the series and corresponds to the lowest airflow. Neck size, not face size, determines the diffuser's capacity: all sizes occupy the same 24 by 24 inch grid module, and the round neck sets how much air the unit can deliver at acceptable velocity and sound level.
