Hart & Cooley Supply Register 683M 12X12 704000 Metal Handle

The Hart & Cooley 704000 is a 683M series supply register measuring 12 by 12 inches nominal, with three way deflection and a metal damper handle.

The 683 three way pattern sits between the 682 two way and 684 four way units in the same family, and the three form a set from which the correct pattern is chosen by the register's position: two way where the outlet sits between two walls or in a corridor, three way where a single wall is adjacent, and four way where the register is clear of walls on all sides.

Stocking all three patterns in the common sizes is what allows a contractor to fit the correct one rather than the one available. Where only a single pattern is carried, the practical outcome is registers throwing air in directions that do not suit their locations.

At 12 by 12 inches this register carries a moderate supply airflow, suiting a bedroom, an office, or a similar room where the outlet sits near one wall.

The metal damper handle resists the embrittlement that eventually breaks plastic, keeping the damper adjustable over the life of the installation.

Applications include residential and light commercial supply air outlets in ceilings, walls, and floors adjacent to a single wall.
