Hart & Cooley 821 14X10 075020 White Vertical Supply

The Hart & Cooley 75020 is an 821 series vertical supply register measuring 14 by 10 inches nominal, finished in white.

Register finish and appearance matter more on supply outlets than on returns, because supply registers are generally more numerous and more visible, appearing in every conditioned room rather than at one or two central locations.

White is the standard finish and suits most ceilings and walls without further treatment. Where a register must match a different colour, the unit should be removed and painted separately rather than sprayed in place, both to avoid overspray on the surrounding surface and to prevent paint building up between the face bars.

Paint accumulation on a supply register is more consequential than on a return, because the face bars establish the deflection pattern. Successive coats round over the bar edges and progressively close the gaps between them, which raises discharge velocity, alters the throw pattern, and adds noise. Registers in older buildings that have been repainted several times frequently perform nothing like their original specification.
