ECCO B-Vent Pipe 512VPA 5X12 Adjustable B Vent

The ECCO 210505 is a 5 inch diameter adjustable Type B vent section with a nominal 12 inch length, providing variable length to close out a 5 inch vent run.

Five inch B vent typically serves larger appliances or common vents carrying two appliances, where the combined input requires more capacity than a 4 inch vent provides. The same assembly principles apply as at smaller diameters, but the consequences of a compromised run are proportionally greater because more flue product is being carried.

The adjustable section addresses the fact that vent runs do not resolve to exact combinations of fixed lengths. The distance from an appliance connector to a ceiling support, or from the last fixed section to the roof flashing, is determined by the building. A telescoping section makes up that difference and eliminates the need to cut listed vent pipe, which would remove the engineered twist lock at the cut end.

Adjustable sections are normally placed at the end of a run rather than mid-span, and must be secured at the set length per the manufacturer's instructions so the adjustment cannot shift over time.

Orientation follows the standard rule, male end down and female end up, so condensate drains back toward the appliance. Maintain the listed clearance to combustibles throughout.

Applications include residential and light commercial gas furnace, boiler, and water heater venting, including common vent installations.
