ECCO B-Vent Pipe 4AF 4 Adjustable Flash 1/12-7

The ECCO 200408 is a 4 inch adjustable roof flashing for Type B vent, covering roof pitches in the range of approximately 1/12 to 7/12.

The flashing is the component that makes the roof penetration weathertight. It consists of a base that lies on the roof deck and is integrated with the roofing material, and a collar that surrounds the vent pipe. An adjustable flashing has a hinged or articulated base that accommodates a range of roof slopes with a single part, rather than requiring a flashing specific to each pitch.

Covering 1/12 through 7/12 spans low slope through moderately steep residential roofs, which is the majority of the pitches encountered in practice.

Correct installation is what determines whether the roof leaks. The upper portion of the flashing base must be installed beneath the roofing material and the lower portion over it, so water running down the roof passes over the flashing rather than under it. Reversing this, or relying on sealant to compensate, produces a penetration that leaks eventually regardless of how much sealant is applied.

The flashing is paired with a storm collar around the pipe above it, and with a listed vent cap at the termination.

Applications include residential and light commercial Type B vent roof penetrations for gas furnace, boiler, and water heater venting. Confirm the actual roof pitch before selecting the flashing.
