ECCO 418VP 4X18 B Vent Pipe 200403

The ECCO 200403 is a 4 inch diameter by 18 inch long section of double wall Type B vent pipe.

Short sections resolve the practical problem that vertical rises rarely correspond to multiples of the long lengths. An 18 inch section is what makes up the difference between the sum of the longer pieces and the height actually required at the roof or ceiling penetration, and having short lengths on hand is what keeps a vent installation from being cut or improvised.

The alternative to a correctly made-up run is field cutting, which should be avoided in listed vent systems. The twist lock ends are part of the listed assembly, and a cut section has no engagement feature at the cut end. Where the run still does not resolve, an adjustable length section is the intended solution.

Short sections also serve where a connector must rise a limited distance before an offset, and in confined attic or chase locations where a longer piece cannot be brought into position.

Install with the male end down and the female end up so that any condensate drains back toward the appliance. Maintain the listed clearance to combustibles, commonly one inch for B vent, continuously through framing, insulation, and penetrations.

Applications include residential and light commercial venting of gas furnaces, boilers, and water heaters with draft hoods.
