The ECCO 200452 is a 4 inch diameter by 24 inch long section of double wall Type B vent pipe.

Two foot sections are the general purpose working length in vent assembly. They are long enough to build a run efficiently and short enough to handle in an attic, a chase, or a mechanical closet where longer sections cannot be manoeuvred, and combinations of 24 inch sections with the shorter and longer sizes cover most required heights without cutting.

Type B vent must not be cut in the field as a matter of routine. The twist lock ends are part of the listed assembly and a cut section loses the engagement feature at the cut end. Adjustable length sections are the intended means of closing out a run that does not resolve to standard sizes.

Orientation matters at every joint. Sections install with the male end down and the female end up, so that condensate forming within the vent runs back toward the appliance rather than escaping at a joint. Installing a section inverted produces a joint that weeps flue gas condensate, which is acidic and will corrode surrounding materials.

Maintain the listed clearance to combustibles, commonly one inch for B vent, through framing, insulation, and every penetration.

Applications include residential and light commercial venting of gas furnaces, boilers, and water heaters fitted with draft hoods.
