ECCO B-Vent Pipe 412VPA 4X12 Adjustable B Vent

The ECCO 200405 is a 4 inch diameter adjustable Type B vent section with a nominal 12 inch length, providing variable length to close out a vent run.

The adjustable section exists because vent runs almost never resolve to an exact combination of fixed lengths. The distance from an appliance connector to a ceiling support, or from the last fixed section to the roof flashing, is set by the building rather than by the vent manufacturer's standard sizes. An adjustable section telescopes within a range to make up that difference, allowing the run to be completed without field cutting.

Field cutting a listed vent system is the practice this component is intended to eliminate. Type B vent sections join by an engineered twist lock at each end, and a section cut to length has no engagement at the cut end. The resulting joint is outside the listing and relies on improvised fastening.

Adjustable sections are normally placed at the end of a run rather than in the middle, and should be secured at the set length in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions so the adjustment cannot shift.

Orientation follows the same rule as fixed sections: male end down, female end up, so condensate drains toward the appliance. Maintain the listed clearance to combustibles throughout.

Applications include residential and light commercial gas furnace, boiler, and water heater venting.
