ECCO 4FMSA 4B-VENT Female Sleeve 200473

The ECCO 200473 is a 4 inch female sleeve adapter for Type B vent, providing a female connection where the vent system requires one.

Sleeve adapters resolve orientation problems in vent assembly. Type B vent sections are directional, with a male end and a female end, and they must be installed male end down so that condensate forming within the vent drains back toward the appliance rather than escaping at a joint. That rule occasionally conflicts with what a particular connection requires, typically where the vent joins existing work, connects to a component with a fixed orientation, or must be assembled from a direction that does not permit normal sequencing.

A female sleeve provides a female connection at a point where the run would otherwise present a male end, allowing the joint to be completed without inverting a section and creating a condensate leakage path.

These adapters are also useful in retrofit work, where a section of existing vent must be replaced and access does not allow the run above to be lifted and re-engaged in the normal way.

Use listed components throughout. Improvised transitions using sheet metal fittings or tape are outside the listing and compromise the clearance and integrity the system depends on.
