DiversiTech Condensate Pump 120V ULTRACP-22

The DiversiTech ULTRACP-22 is a 120 volt condensate pump for air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

Discharge line routing determines how well a condensate pump performs and how long it lasts.

The discharge should rise from the pump reasonably directly to its highest point, then fall continuously to the termination. What causes trouble is the arrangement where the line rises, runs level or slightly downward, then rises again. The pump has to lift against the total of both rises, and water sitting in the intermediate low point provides somewhere for growth to establish and eventually block the line.

Tubing size should follow the manufacturer's specification. Reducing it to fit a convenient route increases friction and reduces the flow the pump can deliver against a given lift.

The termination needs to discharge somewhere appropriate. Discharging to a location where the water will freeze in winter creates a blockage that appears seasonally, and discharging onto a walkway creates an ice hazard. Local codes frequently restrict where condensate may be discharged, and connections to sanitary drainage typically require an air gap.

Check valves are fitted on many pumps to prevent the discharge line draining back into the reservoir. A failed check valve causes short cycling as the same water is pumped repeatedly.

Confirm flow at the required lift, voltage, tank capacity, and safety switch wiring.
