The DeWalt DEWDWE43840CN is a 7 inch brushless small angle grinder in a rat tail configuration with no lock, specified for pipeline work.

The rat tail handle is the defining feature and it is the reason pipeline crews specify this configuration. A conventional grinder has a body the operator grips across; a rat tail grinder has a narrow rear handle in line with the tool. That geometry lets the operator hold the grinder like a pole and work at the awkward angles a pipe joint presents — around the circumference, underneath, and into the root of a bevel — where a body-grip tool has to be wrestled into position. On pipeline work, where every weld is out of position and the joint is round, this is a working advantage rather than a preference.
