CLC Grain Pigskin Glove 2069L

The CLC 2069L is a large grain pigskin work glove for general trade use.

Leather gloves are distinguished by the hide they are made from, and the differences are practical rather than cosmetic.

Pigskin is naturally porous, which makes it breathable, and it has a useful characteristic of remaining relatively soft after getting wet and drying. Leathers that stiffen badly after wetting are unpleasant to put on the next morning, and pigskin handles that cycle better than most.

Cowhide is more abrasion resistant and generally more durable, at the cost of some flexibility, and it is the common choice for heavy work and welding.

Goatskin is soft and offers good dexterity with reasonable durability, which suits work requiring feel.

Grain leather refers to the outer surface of the hide, which is smoother and more resistant to abrasion and liquid penetration than split leather taken from the inner layers. Split leather is cheaper and more porous.

Leather offers good general abrasion and puncture resistance and reasonable heat resistance, which is why it remains standard for handling and for work near heat.

It offers little chemical protection, and leather that has absorbed a chemical holds it against the skin.

Confirm the leather type and construction suit the work, verify the fit, and replace gloves that have hardened, split, or become contaminated.
