CLC Glove General Utility 160M

The CLC 160M is a medium general utility work glove for everyday trade use.

Grip is the property that most affects whether a glove helps or hinders, and it depends heavily on the conditions.

A glove that grips well dry may be useless once oil, water, or refrigerant lubricant is involved, and those conditions are common in this trade. Compressor oil on hands and components, condensate on equipment, and rain on outdoor work all reduce grip.

Palm coatings address this. Different coating materials perform differently in wet and oily conditions, and a coating chosen for dry grip may become slippery when wet.

Losing grip on a component matters beyond dropping it. A tool that slips during a forceful operation sends the hand into whatever is beyond it, which in an equipment cabinet is usually a sheet metal edge.

Grip also affects fatigue. A glove that requires extra force to hold a tool securely tires the hand over a working day, and fatigue reduces both safety and work quality.

General utility gloves are the everyday choice for handling, assembly, and routine work, with heavier gloves reserved for sheet metal and material handling.

Confirm the palm coating suits the conditions the work involves, particularly regarding oil and moisture, verify the fit, and inspect for wear before use.
