CLC Glove Handyman Xlarge 125X

The CLC 125X is an extra large handyman work glove for general trade use.

Hand protection is the personal protective equipment most often omitted in this trade, and hand injuries are correspondingly among the most common.

The hazards in HVAC work are specific and constant. Sheet metal edges are sharp enough to cause deep lacerations and are present on every duct, panel, and cabinet. Copper tube ends after cutting are sharp. Refrigerant lines and equipment surfaces run hot or extremely cold. Fasteners, tools, and components pinch and crush.

The reason gloves get left off is that they interfere with fine work. Handling small fasteners, making electrical connections, and operating controls all become harder with bulky gloves, so the glove comes off and stays off for the rest of the job.

The practical answer is having more than one type available and using the appropriate one. A dexterous glove for general handling and assembly, a heavier glove for sheet metal and material handling, and specific protection where heat, cold, or chemicals are involved.

A glove that fits properly is worn far more than one that does not, so sizing matters.

Gloves must not be worn around rotating machinery, where a glove caught in a moving part draws the hand in.

Confirm the glove's protection level and fit suit the tasks involved, and inspect for wear and damage before use.
