CLC 100-Pack Nitrile Disposable Gloves 2337M

The CLC 2337M is a 100 pack of medium disposable nitrile gloves for chemical handling.

Nitrile has largely displaced latex in disposable gloves, and the reason is significant.

Natural rubber latex causes allergic reactions in a proportion of the population, and those reactions range from contact dermatitis to serious systemic responses. The sensitisation develops with repeated exposure, so a person who has used latex gloves without difficulty for years can develop an allergy.

The exposure is not limited to the wearer. Latex proteins can transfer to surfaces and become airborne on glove powder, affecting others in the vicinity.

Nitrile is a synthetic material that does not contain those proteins, which removes the issue entirely.

Nitrile also offers better resistance to oils and many chemicals than latex, and better puncture resistance, which suits the products handled in this trade.

Vinyl gloves are a cheaper alternative but offer inferior chemical resistance and puncture resistance, and fit less well.

Powder free gloves are generally preferred, since powder becomes airborne, can carry contaminants, and is unwelcome in occupied spaces and near equipment.

Confirm the chemical resistance suits the products handled, that the size fits properly since a poorly fitting disposable glove tears easily, and dispose of used gloves according to the contamination involved.
