Yellow Jacket Superevac Evacuation Manifold 93850

The Yellow Jacket 93850 SuperEvac is a dedicated evacuation manifold.

An evacuation manifold differs from a service manifold in that it is designed for one purpose: moving a very large volume of gas at extremely low pressure with the least possible restriction.

Everything about its construction follows from that. The ports are large, typically 3/8 inch or greater. The internal passages are correspondingly generous. The valves are chosen for full bore flow rather than fine control. And there are no gauges of the conventional sort, since a service gauge cannot usefully measure a deep vacuum.

Instead, a connection for a micron gauge is provided, positioned to read the system rather than the pump.

The performance difference is substantial. Evacuation through a conventional service manifold and quarter inch hoses may take several times as long as through a proper evacuation setup, and in difficult cases may not reach an acceptable vacuum at all.

Since inadequate evacuation leaves moisture and non-condensables that produce acid formation, metering device freezing, and eventual compressor failure, the equipment is worth having.

Applications include refrigeration and air conditioning evacuation.
